Well it came down to Dark Souls 3, Fire Emblem Fates, and Final Fantasy 15. The first to go was FF15, and my game of the year for 2016 is Dark Souls 3.
It was a surprisingly difficult choice, but I think at the ends of things, if a Soulsborne game come out it's likely going to trump all.
Perhaps this wasn't a surprise too those who know me, but there it is.
